The stair hall in warm wood with a smoked glass railing and a crystal chandelier

The Ascent

The original staircase had beautiful scale, but the ornate ironwork and cool finishes made the architecture feel visually heavy and dated. We simplified the railing, introduced smoked glass and wrapped the space in warm natural wood, allowing the original curves to become the focal point. The result feels warmer, quieter and far more architectural.

Detail

Smoked Glass, Warm Wood

A frameless smoked glass balustrade follows the stair without competing with it, while wood on the walls and soffits turns a cold double-height hall into a warm one.
